OUR STANDARDS

We like products that are:

  • Organic Certified or *Beyond Organic
  • Not genetically modified (“non GMO”)
  • Made with locally and responsibly sourced ingredients
  • Produced humanely (when it comes to both animals and humans)
  • Packaged efficiently with 100% recyclable materials
*Beyond Organic, implies smaller, local farms who typically produce above and beyond the requirements for organic certifications but have yet to obtain government approval due to financial constraints and/or processing times.

We do not like:

  • Artificial colors, preservatives or sweeteners
  • Pesticides/herbicides/fungicides/chemical fertilizers
  • High fructose corn syrup
  • Hydrogenated oils
  • Excessive sodium or preservatives
  • Illegally sourced palm oil
  • Waste

We care deeply about the health of our customers and that of our environment…

As such, we ensure that our suppliers share our ideology by performing a life cycle analysis before a product is approved for sale. From raw materials to processing, distribution, use, and then final disposal, we examine the impact every product has on health and the environment at each stage of its life.

While we hold every product to rigorous standard, the many moving parts within food production and the product supply chain give rise to imperfections. To remedy such hiccups, we establish an open line of communication with every supplier to create accountability. If a product changes in any way, our suppliers are obligated to inform us immediately. As a double safety measure, we audit our suppliers periodically to ensure quality control.

We intend for the power of informed decision-making to lie in the hands of our customers. As such, our marketing and packaging are created with the aim of full transparency, especially if a product falls outside of our preferred standards.
